YJers w/ 35s w/SUA?

Gents,
I've been browsing through a few posts and noticed that quite a few of you YJers run 35s without doing a spring over. I'd like to gain the clearance that 35s offer but my Jeep still needs to fit in the garage. So I'm considering the RE 4 1/2" ED lift w/ my current 1 1/4" BL and a TJ flare conversion. Anyone running anything similar to this?

Thanks,
Warren

Re: YJers w/ 35s w/SUA?

From what your putting in, you should be fine. I have a 4" procrap and small shackle lift and Ive been able to fit 35s(but a tight fit). I will be putting a 2 inch body lift later on to make sure I can fit 35s with room. Im gonna see if there is an alternative....really dont like body lift.

Re: YJers w/ 35s w/SUA?

I think that sounds like a great combo. I am heading in that direction as well. Currently have 33s with a 4" and a 1/2" shackle, and rub a bit (springs have sagged). I have the 1.25" JKS body lift on its way, and want to do the TJ flare conversion. I'm hoping for 35s for the street and probably keep the 33s for the trail. Another option is that monoleaf 6" lift that is out, and it is spring under also.

Good luck
Pete

I'm running 35s SUA with a 2 inch spring relocation/shackle reversal and 1 inch body lift.

http://www.chadlloyd.rockcrawler.com/Jeep.html under tech section there are a few article that detail my lift.

Run 4" Spring Under, 1" from a shackle reversal, 1" lift from shackles, 2" body, fit 35's nice with TJ flares.

Re: YJers w/ 35s w/SUA?

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. I think that the net ~6" of lift and TJ flares will allow for good articulation without destroying my fenders. I just hope I fit in the garage. Does anyone have any specs on how tall their YJs sit? My seven foot garage door may pose problems.

Thanks again,
Warren

You should be fine with 7'-0" of opening.
I just went out and put a tape measuer on my YJ. Im running over 7 inches of lift with my SOA and 35" SSRs and I am just under 7'-0".

Re: YJers w/ 35s w/SUA?

Thanks,
Jeff, I read your posts about the 8.8 with interest. I am in the process of prepping mine now to get it installed. I've already bought and received it; now I need to get it ready. Any tips on things to look for, etc.?

BTW, Heck if you're SOA and a hair under 7' I may just go that route.

Thanks,
Warren
