Swapping out parts

A friend of mine is parting out his CJ-5 and I was wondering if someone could tell me if these parts will swap between a 79CJ-5 and a 76 CJ-7. I was looking at his wiper linkage and wipers, the stuff inside the windshield. I was also looking at his roll cage. I have a cage in mine with a shady front end cage, cut in eight places and I did not know the welder nor his capabilities. I would rather get his cage and start from scratch than worry about cutting off the front end of mine and grinding it down smooth just install a new front hoop. I am trying to get him to give me a price list for the parts on his Jeep. I am having trouble communicating with him as he is out of town right now. Trust me, Ya'll will get to pic away at this Jeep shortly enough.

Re: Swapping out parts

The windshield stuff is the same on both. The rollbar may or may not work. Early '79's had the same rollbar as your '76. Late '79 saw the front hoop attach at the shelf between the front floor and the rear floor. The '76 has the front hoop sitting on the rear fenderwell. It still might work though as the rear area on both is the same.
