Re: Greasable Shackles. What Type Of Grease???
There is only 1 type of grease to use in my estimation, synthetic. Sure, it costs a little more, but it can be used in about every applicaton on a jeep and won't wash away with water. It also holds up to higher heat situations. I prefer Mobil-1, and it's a little more expensive, but not tremendously. I use it everywhere on everything with no problems to date. I also think it's one of the things that saved my new drum on the Mazda last winter, bearing heated up (couldn't touch the rim), but never welded itself to the race. My brother's '79 CJ-5 wasn't so lucky, his did weld itself, what a PITA.
