Does anybody name their Jeeps?

So, does anybody on this BBS name their Jeeps? My YJ's name is Darva. Don't ask me why, it just fits. She's red and black and about to have a wonder-bra put on(4.5" lift). That'll give her some support<smile>

1993 Wrangler 4.0/5spd, all stock...but not for long!!!!

The wife and kids call it: DDT, standing for Damned Death Trap. Like Rodney dangerfield, it don't get any respect around here.

Re: Does anybody name their Jeeps?

i used to like spot when I named it that....you know..."roll over, spot" bwahahahah.... and now.. well... "the great pumpkin" looks like it'll show it's big orange carcass right about oct... what else would i call it??
i used to call mine"miss daisy" when i raced... they allways call the person, then the name of the vehicle..etc....so i was "Chris driving Miss Daisy"... it was fun for me.., but a trucks name should be given by your friends for something it did.
some of my favorite"cabbage stomper", "poplar pusher", poodle...so many good stories with these...... and some jail time too....

Re: Does anybody name their Jeeps?

My Jeep's name is "Gator Chaser" since that is one of my favorite things to do with it. Take it out into Crane Park after it's flooded and spotlight the gators while trying not to drive into one of the many ditches or the river (its alright to do those when its dry, but when its flooded even the snorkel wouldn't save me!)
My friend has a Cherokee nick-named "Fugitive" since it sports a home-grown camo job that works great here in FL and a really redneck-rigged suspension along with hacked out wheel-wells to stuff the tires in there.

Restoring a '74 DJ-5C Its missing the alternator. At first the Ammeter gauge just didn't work but now its missing an alternator

Re: Does anybody name their Jeeps?

Well I agree Jeep names should either be given by friends on the trail or be too profane to mention in mixed company. My old CJ5 was refered to as the Siege, both because we got tired of saying CJ and due to the wheeling style that goes along with a V8, 3speed and crappy brakes. My M38A1 only saw about 5 minutes of dirt before the motor gave up so it just goes by Heep until it sees more rocks. Finally my Commando is lovingly refered to as the big green piece of $hit in the backyard.

Re: Does anybody name their Jeeps?

I've always named my vehicles.
My present Cheyanne Blazer is "Shy Anne".
But I still haven't come up with a good name for my CJ-7.
I guess I waited too long unfortunatly because by wife has dubbed her "The Princess" due to the fact she takes first precidence in our two car garage .
