Yards in NVA

Anyone in the Northern Virginia Area? I'm looking for a good Junk Yard in the area. I'm having no luck...I tried Skips Auto Parts in Woodbridge, and a few other places...Any help would be great. I've got a 76 CJ-7, so if you've seen one in a yard let me know.

Thanks,
Tucker

Re: Yards in NVA

i'm afraid i can't help too much. check in the yahoo yellow pages. there are a number of junk yards listed, but they are all at least a 45 min drive from where i am in herndon, so i haven't checked any out yet. consequently, i usually wind up spending a few extra bucks on new parts from local, close by parts stores. let me know if you happen to find a yard that is worthwhile.

good luck,
nate

Re: Yards in NVA

i don't know if you got this email message too, but "T. Lee Perkins" sent me a link to the mid-atlantic jeepers club: http://members.tripod.com/~MidAtlant...ers/index.html

he said that they have info on junkyards, membership, trail rides, etc.

also, i know of an area club called the off-camber crawlers. http://www.offcambercrawlers.org (although their website seems to be down right now).

i haven't gotten around to joining either of these clubs yet, but they seem to do most of their trail rides in the george washington national forest. i don't know of anywhere else within an hour's drive to go wheeling (legally). hope this helps.

Re: Yards in NVA

Try Brandywine, they own just about everything in the D.C. area. They are alittle steep, but they are computerized and can tell you if they have a part over the phone (most of the time). Good luck.
