HEI wiring problems

I just installed a GM HEI in my '88 Wrangler and wired it as per instructions. I am looking for someone who has done this in a Wrangler and can tell me what wire to hook up to the BAT terminal. I used a relay, but I can't shut the Jeep off without disconnecting this wire. The directions on the net are for a CJ, and there is no red wire on a YJ. If anyone could help me, I could use it.

Re: HEI wiring problems

Tap into the 14 ga. yellow wire that comes out of the D5 hole. From the front of the vehicle, it is about halfway down the left side fuse block connector, next to it is a 12 ga. red wire. It is the only wire that is 12 v., switched in the start and run position. My son and I are bringing back to life an 88 Sahara burn victim, and had to go over the wiring wire by wire, that's how we found out.
