Home made Rocker Protection attachment

I just finished making my rocker skids out of 4"x4" 1/4" thick angle iron, looks like they will be plenty stout. Just wondering what others are using to attach their rocker protection. I was figuring on about 14 grade5 1/4" bolts 3/4" long with nylock nuts and big washers per side. I'll just drill thru the skids and rockers and bolt em up. Anybody got any better ideas?

I didn't use that many bolts on my wrangler and they held up great. I was really happy with them. I nailed each side about 5 times each on the Rubicon.

Brad-
Watch it when you try to evenly space the bolts starting from the rear.
Try to get one on EITHER SIDE of the hollow, interior structural post behind your doors, then space the rest accordingly.
I screwed up on one side of mine and drilled a hole into one of these on one side .... no way to get a nut on that one !!!

When you bolt these kind of things on. Do ya'll have any concerne about rust starting? I know that in my area, we are not surprised to find some heavy rust when we remove a bed liner from a pickup.

Yeah John, I caught that one when I was fitting em up! I'm down to 9 bolts now, 14 seemed like overkill. Looks like I can get one near the bottom right in front of the rear fenderwell.
