Storm coming

Not a good day! Jeep is up on jack stands with the tranny still out. The rain is blowing and wind is picking up a little, the weatherman says they are looking for the storm to come our way, we are just north of Tampa.

Re: Storm coming

Hey there- I'm an hour south of Tampa and spent the morning cleaning up the yard of possibly lethal flying debris, battening the hatches down on the boat, and sticking the mast between a bush and the fence. I'm going to park the Postal really close to the garage so hopefully the wind wont blow it over. I just hope the storm doesn't blow our roof off again I'm very tempted to pull the sail-board out of the garage and hook up with all the other adrenalin junkies out at the beach...but I don't have any sails under 6sq meters so I'd just get tossed around like a rag doll

Re: Storm coming

Hey Sycho15, Usually you get more of the storms than we do up here. I just heard a noise here in my office, went out to see what had blown down, found a limb from a tree just off my land, was on top of the motorhone. So got the limb off and move the MH to front yard, it will get more wind but less chance of more limbs coming down on it.

Re: Storm coming

Actually, here in Bradenton, we haven't been hit directly by a 'cane since 1941 or so.... Even that last one that was supposed to nail us turned south which is very tough for a 'cane to due do to the corrioliss effect.... The tech guy where I work said the original settlers dropped a load stone in the mouth of Tampa Bay to ward off such storms. He sure comes up with some interesting BS! Re: Storm coming

I am getting ready down here in Ft. Myers. Going to lash my boat to my jeep, because the jeep has the driveshafts off, and is not going anywhere. Was going to pull the tranny tomorrow, guess not now. At least i can throw a hurricane party and watch the storm with lots of beer

Re: Storm coming

Hey Dan, Looks like you are getting more rain than we are so far. I'd be up in the State Forest near Inverness if my tranny was in the Jeep, it would be nice in the rain up there today.

Re: Storm coming

Here in mobile al, we was in direct line of that storm till this morning, I'm sick of canes we get hit about every three years. I,m building a concrete house right now and people think I'm crazy. I cannot wait for the day a hurricane hits and all I got to do is crank up the generator and turn a movie on the TV. Last I look the storm was only 60 mph winds so that not real bad but no telling what we happen till then. I keep going to www.intellicast.com to keep a eye on it.

Re: Storm coming

For sure, Brownbag, for the last few years you have gotten most of the bad ones up your way! It is calm here now and the rain has almost stopped. But I know better than to start some project now.

Re: Storm coming

Well, I'm right between y'all in Palm Harbor, but the weather channel said it should only grow to about a category one or so. That's sissy wind. Andrew tore our house up back home in Louisiana pretty bad a few years ago - now THAT was a storm.

Question - who should get left out side, and who should get the garage - the '82 CJ-7, or the '96 ZJ?

Heck, why don't we all get together for a hurricane party!?

Re: Storm coming

Hey canis, Put the CJ7 in the garage. In Palm Harbor you will mostly get lots of rain, I am on a little hill up from a lake so we are high and dry, I hope.
