Recharging K&N

<font color=blue>I just bought the K&N filter recharger for 9.95. Not a bad deal, but, as a Jeeper, you know I'm always trying to save cash.

The only ingredient I can find on the "recharger" bottle is mineral oil. Granted, it's pink mineral oil, but still just mineral oil. Add some red dye... Does anyone know of other additions to this substance? If not, we could all save some dough...

Of course, I have NO idea what's in the cleaning solution...

Re: Recharging K&N

Only $9.95 for the cleaning solution and the filter oil, and you're trying to steal the ingredients to make your own??? I'm a little worried about you YJ94, you're starting to sound as cheap as me!

Re: Recharging K&N

At the price of a K&N filter you gotta be crazy to try anything other than what they recommend, especially since the stuff is pretty cheap. I've been using K&Ns since before some of the guys on this bbs were born, and when I first started using em I ruined a couple trying to take the cheap way out. BTW, NEVER blow the dirt off one, you will spread the fibers and ruin the filter.
