Well, I hope to be done with the rebuild on my TF999 by the middle of next week.. I think I'm getting a handle on the problem I've been having. So if worse comes to worse and you can't find another transmission come on up north for a day with your TF999 and a NAPA rebuild kit... we should be able to rebuild it in my garage... Let me know...I ain't a professional, but I work cheap!

Good Jeepin'

Re: Will a 727 out of a early to mid 80\'s Wagonere fit

there was a post on this just the other day and it said that the 727's used in conjunction with the x-case that had the drivers side drop, would bolt up to a dana 300. i have never done this myself but it is interesting to know for future projects.

yes Elusive has a 727 from a grand wagoneer... bolted up to his 304 and he is running a d300 behind it.. it gets kinda clocked funny.. but it works.. will have to redrill the mounting holes in your skid plate probably..

Re: Will a 727 out of a early to mid 80\'s Wagonere fit

I'm running a 727 out of a grand wagoneer in my CJ. I bought it, and bolted it right in. I didn't have to drill anything on my D300, or clock it at all. I am running the 360 also though, so don't know if it'll bolt to an I6. HOWEVER, I did discover that if you aren't running a lift, your front driveshaft won't fit. Mine won't clear the 727's oil pan, because it's so wide. I haven't lifted yet, but am in the process. Once she's up 4 -5 inches at least, with the t-case drop, the front driveshaft should clear, although I may have to limit the up-travel on the front/right tire.

Hope this helps,

Oh, one more thing though - I believe the D300's may have come with either a couple different bolt patterns, or spline counts, or shaft sizes, or something, so you'd need to check into this before bolting up.
