Dana 20 SWAP!...304?

Ok here is the deal I got a free Dana 20 from a Later 70s CJ5 that was bolted to a 4 cyclinder.. not sure which tranny? How much will an adapter cost to mate the DANA 20 to my TH400 Automatic in my 78 CJ7 w/ 304? Who makes a adapter? Will it work? also the CJ7 had a Quadratrac..??
Thanks

Re: Dana 20 SWAP!...304?

Ok, so the quadratrac has a chain that needs replacement, and doesn't get as good of mileage (like that's a concern, right?) but why swap it out. My jeep has a D20 and I wish it had a quad...lower low range, full time 4wd for snow/etc, and the locked in center diff for serious action. Ok, so I don't know the answer to your question, but I was just curious what prompted the swap. I would think that a Qtrac, like anything else, would last a long time if maintained properly. Going from my D20 to a qtrac would change my crawl from 45:1 to nearly 60:1...

Currently looking for corporate sponsors for jeep improvements...will sell advertising space on jeep, will also sell soul/body...make an offer.

check with advance adapters they should be able to steer you in the right direction.

you could also find a fsj with a turbo 400 and the dana 20 already behind it. if you could find a junk one you could steal the main shaft and the tail housing and put it in your 400 and then bolt the 20 up.
