mopar MPI kit

Has anyone installed this kit on their Jeep? I am thinking about keeping the wrangler instead of selling it like I was originally planning, but it needs help in the power/mileage department. I currently have a weber carb and a pacesetter header on the Jeep. It isn't bad until I get on the highway, and then it has like no power at all. The engine has 113,000 miles on it and I am trying to decide if I should go ahead and buy the kit or get a rebuilt longblock and then install the kit or what. I would go with a newer 4.0 but have never been able to locate a good one in my area. I was interested in the mopar kit because it is all there, and since this Jeep is currently my daily driver I didn't want the project to snowball too much (like that will ever happen...)

The kit is not a bad move, but as long as you are doing it, replace the head with a 4.0L head; without it, you just dont get the true benefit of the kit (you will not get the same power, mileage, and have to use supreme to keep it from pinging). If you want more info, do a search, as this question has been beaten to death on this board.

As Jaffer will also tell you, the MPI kit is not a good route to take if you are looking to freshen up the power on a tired engine. Lots of people take this route and are very unhappy with their choice. If you have an engine which is tight it probably is a good move, but don't look to it to make up for a tired horse.

I agree with the others, rebuild the engine, add the 4.0 head, add a cam with a little more lift, and enjoy life.
