Does anyone know where I can find a Y pipe for the exhaust on a 1979 CJ7 304 automatic with quadratrac? I have not been able to find one anywhere, thanks for any help. Steve

a Y pipe? hummm.....how about true dual exhaust...that'd be pretty cool! Just my opinion...

Re: Cant find 304 Y pipe

I have a 74 CJ5 with a 304. I had dual exhaust put on but none of the shops around here would do it. They were even reluctant to fab a Y-pipe. But it is nice to have a good friend that has a pipe bender. I now have duals to the back between the frame rails. I did find a shop that would do it on the other side of town....they wanted about $275. for duals. I believe $100 something for Y-pipe. Later, Carl

Re: Cant find 304 Y pipe

I'm in the same boat on my V8 swap. Walker does not make the Y-pipes for CJ's anymore (NAPA). According to Midas, they don't have a spec card to make up the y-pipe either.

You need a shop to custom make it for you. Hot rod guys would be a good source for a referral to a good shop.

Re: Cant find 304 Y pipe

automatic and standard y pipes the same? I have a standard Y pipe. It isn't pretty like new, but its still strong. I'll sell it cheap if it will work. email me if you are interested.
