CJ to YJ suspension question

I just purchased Mountain Off Road YJ shackles, planning on changing my CJ suspension to YJ. I believe the only difference is a 2.5" front spring instead of 2", correct?

So...assuming I change the front shackle hangers, I should be good to go for a YJ lift, right?

Thanks,

canis

Re: CJ to YJ suspension question

the rear will bolt right up but the front yj springs are noy only wider but longer too. you will have to make up for this by moving the forward mount forward and the rear mount back.

Re: CJ to YJ suspension question

hey there,

i did this swap with the MORE products as well. Although they are a little pricey, i went for the MORE/Slick Rock conversion shackle hangers for the YJ springs on a CJ. It is a true bolt on and they are VERY beefy. You can see them at: http://www.mountainoffroad.com/catalog/Misc/misc.htm and they are part #SR9851 on the bottom of the page.

Good Luck

Re: CJ to YJ suspension question

You'll also need 'new' u-bolt plates to account for the wider springs.
