goto any shop in town that exchanges trannys, around here ( for a tf727 at least) they are about $350 exchange $100 converter

does it have to be a tf999? why not a 727? ask for a 1981 wagoneer tranny with a V8

There is an issue with the front driveline and tranny with YJ, but on the CJ there is none.. left hand drop (YJ) vs. rt hand drop (CJ). TH904 908, 999 from JEEPS all will bolt right into your CJ with AMC engine.
