need basic info on MB/GPW

Someone close to me is selling what they claim to be a "1942 Ford MB". I am looking at a picture of it right now trying to get some clues about it. I'm going to look at the thing in person in a few days and would like to be armed with a little more info about what to look for. What identifies a Ford GPW as opposed to a Willys' MB. I can see that the grill is stamped, not welded slats (drat!). Don't the tailgates on a Ford GPW have the Ford script on it?
I found cereal numbers for the MBs, anyone have any numbers for the GPW?

I can get the thing cheap and am thinking I'll just do a basic restoration because of it's heritage and drivetrain weekness.

Any comments on what to look for would be appreciated.

Re: need basic info on MB/GPW

I asked a very similar question about 5 weeks ago. You could do a search for my user Id and probably find it. Also, I found this link that has a lot of good info:
Also, if I remember correctly, if it's a Ford, it's a GPW, not an MB. MB was the designation given to the Willys model.
Hope this info helps.

Look for an F or sometimes even Ford on all bolts in the engine compartment.
