Front Track Bar

My 99 TJ has a ProComp 4" Stage 2 lift. The problem is the track bar lowering bracket combo doesn't allow the use of an aftermarket steering stabilizer or skid plates etc. I would like to replace the track bar with another one but I had to drill the frame mount hole to 9/16" for the bracket. Most of the bars I have seen still have the tappered end. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Front Track Bar

The Rubicon Express front track bar uses a completely different mounting bracket at the frame. It has a ball joint that allows for more movement. I run a rancho steering stabilizer with this set up.

Re: Front Track Bar

Did you have to drill out the factory bracket and if so to what size?

Re: Front Track Bar

I got the Rubicon Express track bar for my XJ and it does not have the tapered end where it mounts to the frame. If I remember correctly I had to drill out the mounting bracket to 9/16". Give them a call to be sure.

I may not like what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Re: Front Track Bar

Has anyone else had this problem with a Pro-Comp track bar or used a track bar with a 9/16" frame end bolt or any other aftermarket track bar that requires drilling the frame mount hole larger.
