np435 anyone done it ?

has anyone swapped the np435 into a cj7 as outlined in AA jeep booklet ?
if so any info such as will it bolt directly to the bellhousing replacing an SR-4 and any driveline mods that were necessary ? I know the AA kit would be necessary to hook it to the D300.
also any info. pro/con on clocking the D300 would be appreciated
I am fishing for Ideas trying to keep costs to a minimum ?Otherwise I will probably go with the AA World Class T-4 although it is kinda co$$$$$$tly.

It can be bolted to a t-4 bellhousing. But I don`t know about an sr-4. You should be able to pick up a bellhousing from a t-176 or t-150 pretty resonable, if it will not work on the sr-4 bellhousing. I got a lot of good info on this subject from .

Re: np435 anyone done it ?

t-176 and t-150 bell housing is correct. i run a np435 in my jeep but i have a ford moter so i use a ford bellhousing. i bought an aa kit from hicks four wheel drive for $445. to connect it to my dana 300. don't go staight through aa because it will be more $$$. i installed the adapter myself and i had never been into a tranny before. i just took my time and payed close attn to how everything came out and when i installed the new main shaft i put it back the same way. there are some c-clips that are a real pain to get off but other than that it wasn't too bad. i would sugguset getting a manual if you plan to do it yourself. i also bought a gasket set for the np435 from napa before i started. the only other thing that might cost is if you have to lengthen/shorten your d/shafts but if i remember correctly with the sr4 you won't. check with aa first. i will say that i love the granny low first gear!
