anyone mount a fan between the grill and radiator?

Just curious. I currently have an electric fan in my CJ7. Normally everything is fine but once in a while it will get warm. I was considering mounting one of my extra fans between the grill and the radiator. I will have to "make room". Has anyone else done this? Thanks.

I mounted a thin electric fan, 16" diameter between the radiator and my grill, it just barely fit, the back of the fan only has about 1/8" clearance between the back of the fan motor and the inside of the grill. It worked out great for keeping the engine cool.

I did it and used some washers to make the room. Caused no problems. I put the washers between the radiator bracket and the mounting surface.

Can you fix it?
I got a welder and a grinder. Heck yeah I can fix it.

I stuck an old Mercedes A/C fan in there and hooked it to my A/C for better performance. Works great and looks great. Need any info on the setup?

Just make sure it is a pusher type fan and it will work just fine. The only down side is it will se more mud unless you put a (stainless) radiator screen on the grill.

Hey, Yeah that would be true. I just picked one up.

Hey, I read your profile, you said something about a custom rear light?

Are you guys all talking about a fan mounted in front of the radiatior in addition to the normal engine driven fan?

The custom reverse light is one of the best mods I have done so far. It is removable for the spare tire and lets you see while you back up (the factory lights don't let you see anything).

Where's the Mud

I have one but it is small and doesn't move a lot of air. I've been really disappointed with it. It is a 10" fan from Autozone. I was limited to size because I run a tranny cooler on the other side of my radiator.
