Unless you are tying your cage into the frame then the design above is just as strong. It doesnt require cutting your dash and is unobtrusive.

If you're really serious about wheeling, seriously, tie the cage to the frame, and be sure to use some sort of rubber bushings in between teh cage mounts and the frame. Sure, it costs more, and take a LOT more itme to do it...but with a rollcage, you only use it when Its your life on the line, so be safe, tie it in, even if just for good measure, not only does it look cooler, but it gives you peace of mind too...
