HELP! I need a new shift lever for my cj-7!

My CJ-7 lost 3rd and 4th gear. I had the synchronizer assembly for that replaced--it had two broken teeth. It has always popped out of gear on it's own. the mechanic told me that it looks like the shift lever is a homemade job and it is not bent properly so it will probably keep popping out of gear on it's own. does anyone have one for a CJ-7 they want to get rid of? Mine is a 1977 CJ-7, 258, 4 speed tranny. I called quadratrac, they had the shift lever in their catalog, but when I talked to them they said they didn't have it??

what does your shifter look like? if have the t-18, the shifter comes VERY close to the dash in the unsychronized first gear, and it also comes close in third. the t-18 is almost indestructable though. the shifter looks like a solid steel bar that is slighly tapered as it goes up towards the shifter handle. it has 1 bend in it about 2 inches from the floor.. this is from memory though.. i haven't looked at one in awhile

jrtg, thanks for filling out your profile. sorry but i don't know of any good places to look where you are though. what tranny does your jeep have? if it is the t-18 you can get one from a ford, international, or another jeep with the t-18. if your not sure look on the side of the tranny and if it is a t-18 the first 4 numbers that are cast into the side will be 1301.

If you have a T-4, I got you covered. I have one in my garage at home. Let me know.
