Almost having clutch problems...
I've been driving my 87yj around in the last couple of days to work out some of the bugs in i after the recent rebuild, 4.0 head, MPI, and added relays to the headlightst. While driving it around I have noticed that I need to depress the clutch almost all the way to the floor to get it to disengage. It didn't use to do that. I would only have to depress the clutch until it was about 2" from the floor. It's not low on fluid, I just bled it out. I has been sitting for about a year though...I guess my question is are there any good swaps out there for the YJ clutch master cylinder. I am thinking about the master cylinder right? the one that attaches to the petal through the fire wall. I don't want to put in another one that is even remotely related to the stock model
When I first got the YJ I went through 3 stock master cylinders from the dealer, then my dad picked up one at nappa. The one from nappa didn't break quickly, but it did and still does leak fluid down the inside of the fire wall. What will swap in? Is there any sutible junkyard possibilities or should I just buy new? And if I buy new, who makes a good, strong, reliable unit?
Thanks in advance.
