power steering box

I have a leaking power steering box on my 83 CJ7. Where can I get seals/parts for it? Would it be better to just buy a new one? If
so, is a wrangler box the same? By the way my current box has o-ring seals on the hoses.

Re: power steering box

every steering box you find from a jeep will fit.. the wrangler box has a quicker turn ratio..but most people like it when they gets used to it..

Re: power steering box

I can't confirm or deny that every jeep box will fit...but I can tell you that there are a lot of different hoses out there...they go by years. Pre-76 (77?) is a large compression fitting, post 76-77 is a o-ring...and there are two different size o-ring fittings. As far as the rebuild goes, Napa has a rebuild kit for $30. Doesn't sound all that difficult, so long as it's only the seals that are bad. If your gears are worn, then it's time for a new box...

The jeep is up and runnin...damn...work work fix..the jeep is...damn...work work fix...the jee...damn
