Has anyone ever put a spool in their AMC model 20? If so where did you get it and how does it work for you? Also could anyone tell me if the AMC 20 is also called the AMC 8and7/8's?

Re: Spools??

As far as I know no one makes a spool, mini or full, for a model 20. I considered it last fall before I ended up with a Detroit, but couldn;t find one anywhere.

Re: Spools??

In my search for a spool a few years ago, I found them primarily for the racing/strip circuit. They do make them for a wide variety of axles, but as far as I've seen, no AMC's. The mini-spools also vary in price, from $40 for a Ford 9 inch to $135 for a D44. The full spools are twice that, and for having no "give" (and being backordered), I decided on the Lockright.

Re: Spools??

and AMC20s ring gear is 8&7/8 in diameter so i would assume a 8-7/8 AMC is a model 20!

Ive never seen a spool for one, if anyone has one itll be a hotrod application.
