Re: anybody got a web page?

Does a section of the largest OHV mag in the world count? IMO, the best way to go software wise is Homesite, kicks butt all over that wienie FrontPage, and is easier to use than Dreamweaver. And yes, I have experience with all 3, have Homesite and FrontPage 97 on my machine at home, Dreamweaver and FrontPage 2000 on my machine at work. Plus, Homesite, is cheaper than the others, under a hundred bucks and you can download a full blown trial copy from Allaire.com.

My page is in my sig, below. I made it a couple years ago with Front Page 98. It works fine for most applications, but I wouls agree with the above post that Homesite is a good product.

I've used Front Page and Dreamweaver.... Dreamweaver is the best, but very complicated to learn all it's ins and outs. Homestead has it's own software you downlowd... and is made for the average guy to use. It's simple, and you can't do a lot with it, but it gets the job done and meets my needs.

Re: anybody got a web page?

Homesite is actually very similar to Dreamweaver, but no where near as complicated. More vesatile than FrontPage once you learn all it can do, but if you really want to get totally serious and have the time (and money) Dreamweaver is probably the most complete package. I strongly suggest downloading trial copies of both, they are good for 30 days and are complete, not just sample versions.

It's not complete yet, there is more info about rock climbing and my fiancee than anything else yet. I've got a lot of jeep pics that have yet to go up on the site. I just wrote it out in wordpad. I like geting in there and messing with the actual code. I used Adobe Photo Shop Pro as my photo editor and graphics creator.

Re: anybody got a web page?

My best advice is to actually learn HTML, even if you decide to use the software. HTML itself will always be more vesatile than the "cookie cutter" software. Online courses in HTML and web graphics are available from a number of sources and most let you work somewhat at your own pace. Would have been a great way to pass the time in the hospital while you were laid up a while back. How ya doin' by the way? Hope all is well, or at least "mostly better".

Re: anybody got a web page?

Dreamweaver and Fireworks are both good heavy duty programs for building your web site. They both come from Macromedia and work together in a seamless fashion. Fireworks is the program for doing your graphics.
Am learning both of them. My current sites were built with an OS/2 program. Have changed over to Win 2000 - thus the new learning curve.
