What could happen here,,(Guns..OT)

Some of you may have read this already,,,but since its kinda slow tonight, I thought I would post this. This was sent to me--you may find it interesting

Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like
to see the real figures from Down Under.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners
in Australia were forced by new law to
surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be
destroyed by our own government, a program
costing the Australia taxpayers more than
$500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent;
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent
(yes, 44%!)...

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides
with firearms are now up 300 percent.
(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned
them in, the criminals did not and criminals
still possess their guns!)

While figures over the previous 25 years showed
a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms,
this has changed drastically upward in the past
12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed
that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in the
break-ins and assaults of the elderly.

Australian politicians are at a loss to explain
how public safety has decreased, after such
monumental effort and expense was expended in
"successfully ridding Australian society of guns."

You won't see this data on the American evening
news or hear your Governor or members of the state
Assembly disseminating this information.
The Australian experience proves it.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens saves lives
and property and, yes gun-control laws affect
only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note Americans, before it's too late!
PLEASE FORWARD TO EVERYONE ON YOUR E-MAIL LIST!

Re: What could happen here,,(Guns..OT)

"An armed society is a polite society." Our crime rates in Texas have only fallen since inacting our concealed carry law 5 years ago. It's not even about guns. It's about POWER and DEPENDANCY. The governments want the POWER that the DEPENDENCE gives them.
Support YOUR NRA and your state association.
Give an inch, they take a mile. Support your right as a law abiding, mentally stable American citizen to own ANY firearm you choose. It's not a matter of, "What the h*ll does anyone need with one of those AR-15's!" It is however, a matter of our right to own the AR-15 of our choice.

Colt and Smith & Wesson bailed on us. They have now gotten their just-rewards.

Joey

Problem is, facts like these never bother the gun grabbers or get reported in the mainstream media. Just notice how James Brady, former Reaganite and Reagan Press Secretary, converted to a Democrat--by taking a bullet in the head rendering him brain damaged.

Hey Felgin, that comment about Brady was cold (true, but cold). Seriously, I've has people ask me why I own those "Things" (military type semi autos) and I reply with..."This is America and NEED has nothing to do with it. I own them because I'm an American and I can!"
Join the NRA and get a friend to vote. We WILL win this way!

Re: What could happen here,,(Guns..OT)

Before the shooting James Brady was an avid gun collector. It was his WIFE who the Brady Bill is named for. She made the big fuss and is the head of Handgun Control, Inc.

Forward those statistics to all your Senators and Congressmen, and especially to the presidential candidates.

James Brady had the political juice, and that's why Sarah got into HCI. Remember, though, that Sarah pushes James around at all the rallies and gets him to say a few words. My post was/is cold, but I thought it appropriate, especially after Carey's post about him being a collector.
