ATTN: Arizona folks

What's this crap about needing mud-flaps and being no more than 8" off the ground if your truck is lifted? Is this enforced? Anyone find a way around it?

How bout KC highlites? I tried to read the lighting laws, but it confused the hell out of me what it means? Any thoughts?

Any other crazy laws I need to know about Arizona?

Thanks

Gettin ready to move there, that's why all the questions.

Re: ATTN: Arizona folks

I left AZ 3 years ago, where I lived in Safford in the SE part of the state stuff like that was totally ignored. Of course the area was rural, and 4wd was a necessity in a lot of places.

Re: ATTN: Arizona folks

The only lift law in Arizona states that 1/2-ton or heavier trucks
must have mud flaps if the tire size is larger than the ones put on at
the factory. Suburbans, Blazers, FS Broncos, etc. are classified as
station wagons so are not affected by this law.

Dont worry about it if you are worried about a Jeep. I have never heard of a single person having a problem with the law no matter what vehicle they drive.

I've also never heard of regulations regarding lights.

The bottom line is Arizona is a 4wd friendly state.

Thanks guys. It's good to see fellow off roaders help each other out, regardless of what they drive.

Re: ATTN: Arizona folks

The mudflap thing is pretty much just an excuse for a$$hole cops to harass you. I used to sell about 1-2 set of mudflaps per week at the 4x4 shop to people who got busted. I had a cop pull me over in my 4Runner which is exept, and my buddy got pulled over in his Tacoma Pre-runner which as a 2wd is exept. The big problem is if your coming back from the river or lakes, the cops will use flaps as an excuse to check you for DUI, or if the cop is just a dick like nearly all are. However on a jeep you can run around with 44 boggers totally out of the wheelwell with no flaps and no trouble. Or so it's been explained to me by a few cops. Happy Trails
