source for hood welting for 67 CJ

I am planning on repainting my 67 CJ-5 in the near future. I was looking at things I will want to replace at the same time, and came across the "welting" that runs across the top of the grill that the hood sits on. I say "welting" cause I don't know what it is called, and the closest thing I've seen is a product called fender welting in the J.C. Whitney. It appears to be a heavy cotton sewn over two parallel(about 3/4" apart)heavy fiber cords. It is held to the upper edge of the grill with wire clips. Kinda like a gasket to keep the hood from having metal on metal contact with the grill. This is long winded, if you've got an older Jeep, you probably know what I'm talking about.
BTW, it's also on the braces that protect the top mounted windshield wipers, that support the windshield frame on the hood when it is folded down.
Anyone know where can I get a new piece of this stuff?
Thanks!

I don't know about new replacement for jeeps, but i was going to use Boiler rope. It's rope gasket made for boilers, you know in your house, and is made in oval shape so I think it would work out OK.

I don't know the exact address, but if you goto a search engine and search for "Surplus City". They have the part you are looking for.

Go with the J.C. Whitney stuff. It's as close to the original as you'll ever get. The price ain't bad, either!

Try http://www.specialtyparts.com They carry just about every part for Jeeps from 41 - 86. There are many more parts than the website shows.
