Adjustable roller rockers on an AMC V8?

Even though I am very happy with my 401, it is time for an adjustable valvetrain. I have question on what it will take, and I heard that I can use smallblock Chevy roller rockers. The only reason why I want to do this is because of valvetrain noise, it isn't bad, just a light tick, but I am sure it can't help engine longevity. I am also looking for some good AMC engine web sites, because my computer crashed last week and I lost all of my info, I guess I should have did some backups. I had 4 or 5 sites that I really didn't have time to checkout, just a kwik browse, so if any one knows of any sites, please let me know.

Thanks, Ray

Summit has roller rockers for the AMC V8. Harland Sharp is the manufacturer and they go for around $200 for the set. It requires some head work and the installation of pushrod guides.

Re: Adjustable roller rockers on an AMC V8?

401 rocker arm studs are threaded 7/16" into the heads - so you could easily upgrade to the strength of big block Chevy size rockers and studs. Of course you could keep using the stock studs and use the small block Chevy rackers as well. To learn more go to www.froadin.com.

BTW: 401 heads are the same castings as 360's but have bigger exhaust manifold and rocker stud bolt holes.
