Custom drag/tie rod set-up?

I'm getting ready to upgrade my cj-7 wide-track to high clearance steering. I'll be using 1 1/2" 4140 for the tie rod and drag link in a "Y" type config.. My question is whether or not there is a critical measurement for the placement of the drag link on the tie rod. I was thinking of placing it just inboard of the leaf spring to ensure that there will be no binding at full droop. SOA, BTW.

Re: Custom drag/tie rod set-up?

i guess the farther away from the steering box the less bump steer you will have.
also you almost always want the drag link mounted to the front side of the tierod because the tierod moves back (twards the axle) when you turn
and you don't want them to cross over each other
