I do a lot of deep sand driving in my CJ5 that has a rebuilt 360 with about 3000 miles on it. I have been staying under 4000 RPM's, but I was wondering what the redline for my engine is, thanks.

With stock rods, I'd keep it under 5500 rpms.

Mag is correct again, and maybe a little optimistic...

With cast iron rods and factory crappy rod bolts, I'd keep it between 4,500 and 5,000 for an absolute max.

even with a mild rebuild and after market cast rods, i wouldn't push too close to 5500 unless it's all been balanced and all (and unless you really trust your builder) every 500 rpm's a normally acceptable .001" can make a big difference.
