Well, I have finally gotten around to working on the Willys.
Changed the oil in the engine, tranny, x-fer case, and both differentials.
You should have seen the gunk in the bottom of the oil filter canister.
Put new gas tank in along with a new metal fuel line.
Cranked on it for about three minutes and all of a sudden I see fuel coming through the pump and into the filter.
That was the big highlight of my day!
Then, all of a sudden, sputter sputter, brump brump, pop, brump, vroom!
Well, now that it is in running condition, I think I will order one of those Solex carbs and put it on.
Maybe a new fuel pump, but time will tell on that.
I am just so happy that I got it running today.
Now I need to get the brakes working so I can stop when I am going through the neighborhood.
Does anybody know of a cheap bikini top made for these jeeps?
Right now I have a piece of old canvas strapped up there so I don't get sunburned.
Also, I was reading the manual on it and it said in order to remove the brake drums I have to take the hubs off also.
Does this sound right to ya'll?
I just had to pass along this great info that another jeep is back up and running.
Have a good day all, and be sure and wear those seatbelts.
