what the heck are these? why would anyone want a wheel to look like a bead lock but not be one? can you say poser! i'm sorry if i'm stepping on anyones toe but i think this is obsurde(sp?)! anyway i just noticed them in one of my magazines and had to let the world know what i felt about this. just my op!

It seems that a little lawsuit (what? where? not in America[img]/wwwthreads_images/icons/shocked.gif[/img]) meant they had to stop selling beadlocks seeing as how they are not D.O.T. approved.
I am hoping though that this ons one of those "These wheels are the exact same as standard beadlocks, but in no way are you to mount the tires using the beadlock method. You are supposed to mount these tires normally, and the beadlock ring is just for protection, although the tires could be mistakenly mounted the same as with other beadlocks. We repeat, you could mount these tires the same as normal beadlocks, but that would be illegal and wrong... but you could."
Has anyone seen a set of these new "Street Locks" in person?
I have a friend that works at 4WPHS and he showed me a pair. They are regular Rock Crawler wheel with a beauty ring that has bolts in it. They are NOT bead locks! I think I am going to get a set with Thornbirds for my Civic.
