Speaking of roll cages... video clip

For anyone interested, this is a video clip of a club member rolling his CJ7 down Helicopter Pad in Tellico a few years back...
This one uses a RealMedia broswer plug-in
http://tennessee4x4.com/trailrunners...og-roll-rm.htm
or you can download it
http://tennessee4x4.com/trailrunners...igdog-roll.mpg

Be warned, these are pretty large files - but do a good job showing him rolling 2 & a half times luckily to be stopped by a tree. He was using a standard CJ7 factory roll bar with spreaders and a front hoop welded in (what most people refer to as a "full cage" in a CJ). The driver was not injured - not a scratch, a bruise, or a break. He was wearing the factory seatbelt - and it worked wonderfully. The CJ body on the other hand was pretty beat up - but the cage held up just fine...

If any of you are familiar with Tellico, you know how "interesting" Helicopter Pad can be...

And yes, you may have seen this clip on TV before

If anyone is interested, I may be able to get some pictures of the cage as it looks now if some of you want to see if/where it deformed, etc.

Re: Speaking of roll cages... video clip

hey i've been there and almost done that! i was there during the dixie run 98 and it had rained the night before. the ground wasn't too bad just bad enough that i couldn't get good traction on that rock i tried a couple of times which led to some dents in the d/side from the rock sticking out of the wall. you know the one. any way i tried one last time and my front started to come up just like that guys but one of the guys i was riding with happened to be on the wall and he jumped over on my hood preventing me from rolling. after this i decided to use the ol' winch. thanks for the video, brings back memories!
