Re: Carb jetting ?/Colorado
I am not sure, but when ever I have had my Jeep @ 12-14K feet (Taylor River, Tin Cup Pass) I have never had a problem with the settings I had my carb BBD at Denver, 5000 feet. When I replaced my carb. NAPA had a special carb I could order for the altitude, but I haven't ever had a problem in the high country with my Carter.

I really don't know jetting for the afb. But if you are going to Crested Butte, definatly do Pearl Pass. I was up there two weeks ago, and it was awsome. It will test you high altitude compensation out, at 13,000 ft. Did I mention that I saw moose up there?

This is one of the few years that you can cross over because of the low snow pack.

Re: Carb jetting ?/Colorado
Higher altitude requires leaner jetting to compensate for less Oxygen. The factory recommends 4* more timing, also. You could try the next leaner metering rods, they are easy to change on the AFB. If you are just visiting the area, I'd leave the jetting alone, but if you intend to move there, have the mixture checked at a good tune up/smog shop to see what change is needed, if any, in jetting.

Hope this helps, good luck!
