Nice ride! Are the specs still the same as your profile? Looks bigger than 33's

Re: pics of my jeep.....

Could you pls. be more spesific about tire wear ??

The reason: I'm looking to buy a set of strictly "off-road" tires...
(I have a set of 33x12.5" BFG All-Terrains for street duty...)
I would probably use the off-road tires less than 1-2000 miles pr. year ...
Off-road use would be trail-style use, not much rock crawling.

What size are you using, looks like 33x12.5 ???

Regards,
PerJ (From Norway)

Re: pics of my jeep.....

If you're looking for strictly off road..TSL or TSL-SX might better suit you. The SSR is a radial and is designed for on/off road use. They are siped for wet pavement traction and the lugs are positioned closer together for a better ride (less wander) and less noise. The sidewalls are obviously not as strong as a bias ply TSL. They are softer to absorb road impacts. As for the tread wear, I have heard positive and negative about that. I was looking at the SSR for my FJ, but ended up going with the MT/R. I still believe the SSR is worth the money and is a good tire choice for someone who wheels often, but still has to drive their rig to work everyday.

Darin: Nice ride!! What digital camera did you get? How do you like it so far?

PerJ: I'm definately with Darin on the SSR's tire wear...they wear fast on pavement. The rubber is so soft compared to say... BFG muds. Thats why my set is dedicated to strictly off-road. Itsnotajeep makes some good points about the SSRs (closer lug spacing, siping, etc.), but the most important one is SIDEWALL strength. I've got two SSRs with sidewall punctures. H8Monday has had 3-4. The tires are good traction tires. The siping really helps on wet rocks, but the sidewall strength is obviously a big problem. I am a fan of the swamper tires. The tsl radials, other than being narrow for their stated size, are good tires and wear well on the road. The TSL bias and SXs are GREAT off road, but are kind of harsh on the pavement. If you need an aggresive mud tire with some road manners I'd go for a tsl rdial in a size wider than you normally would order. Less aggresive, long wearing mud tire, I like the BFG muds...I run them as my "street" tires now. I don't have any experience with the MT/Rs.
