Where to get replacement valve cover for pre80 258

I have seen the valve covers from 4wd hardware and clifford for the post 80 258 engines. Does anyone make a replacement for the
pre 80 258? I really don't want some lame chrome plated cover!

I don't know of anyone making a replacement, but I think someone did make a cheesy chrome one once.

1) If it's to replace a failed part, you could easily find a replacement at a wrecker. There are a lot of vehicles besides CJs that had the 258. Pacers, Eagles, Jeep trucks, and IH trucks to name a few. I have a couple of them sitting here, but probably not close enough to you.

2) You could swap in a later 258 head and buy an aluminum cover from Clifford or 4wdHardware (I've got a couple of those too). You could pick one up and have it rebuilt at the same time.

3) Better option: do a 4.0L head swap. Gain better breathing for more power, and a better valve cover, and header come as part of the deal.
