Project CJ-7 update

Well i finally got tires on it today. Nothing special just something to get on and off the trailor and into the garage tomorrow. Today was the first I was able to drive my Jeep. I started out by draining the battery trying to start it. But I got it charged enough to get it going. So I shifted into first (so I thought) And I didn't move. opps transfer case in neutral Ok Got that taken care of. Now when I went to go the Jeep went backwards "Hmm. this aint right" I thought. I shifted through the gears and there were only 4 slots to shift into. Oh I guess it's not the 4 speed it was supposed to be. That was an interesting experience. So now I need to find info on this 3 speed. And maby start looking for a T-18A that I was expecting. Just 1 more thing to work on

Re: Project CJ-7 update

You probably have figured this out by now, but it sounds like a three speed with an H shift pattern.
Top left--reverse
Bottom left---1st
Top right---2nd
Bottom right---3rd
Hope this helps if you haven't figured it out by now.
Take care.

Hey Kyle

So , have you made any decisions on the body yet ? The T-150 is not a bad tranny at all , in fact it`s pretty tough . If your doing the ROCK thing , thats when people dont like it , the gearing is a bit high . I have found for average trail use the T-150 is just fine.

Re: Project CJ-7 update

Jeff,
Yeah I'm gonna go with welding in new body panels. Not really my choice. I'm going to be leaving here shortly to get a trailor and get my Jeep. I'm takeing it to my dad's to work on it in his garage. Hopefully I'll be able to start on it soon. Hey whay should i use to cut off the old body panels? They do get taken off don't they? SawzAll Would that be ok? And what should I do for supports? Like the ones that come off the wheel well? Thanks...Kyle
