Survey: Which way does your CJ lean?

I was having a discusion with a fellow CJ owner about the notorious 'CJ Lean'.
So this got me to thinking.....

How many CJ's out there have it?

And which way is it leaning?

Mine always had a slight lean to the drivers side.

With a 4" lift on my CJ-7, it leans toward the driver's side. The funny thing is that sometimes I'd swear that it didn't lean at all. Odd thing!

Re: Survey: Which way does your CJ lean?

Well mine seems to lean back and to the right. I think this is due to the 4 flats and the fact that the right rear is off the rim. But i've got tires to put on it, now i just need to get them mounted.Kyle

Re: Survey: Which way does your CJ lean?

Funny this should come up, I have been chasing this down for awhile now, thought the bushings were out in my shackles, but bought new poly, took the first one apart, and it had relatively new poly in it. Then thought I bent an axle, or springs shifted. The shackle sits cockeyed on the drivers side, but the lean could be causing it??? Any thoughts..

Re: Survey: Which way does your CJ lean?

For me the lean is to the drivers side. On the early jeeps the engine is off set a little to the drivers side that and the fuel tank under the drivers seat and always having a driver this causes the lean for me

Re: Survey: Which way does your CJ lean?

With my previous suspension I had a lean to the driver's side, of course this was probably caused by the bent front spring.
No lean with the current suspension.

Mine leans to the drivers side. It's bad enough that I have to adjust the right side headlight so that it points more towards the road instead of the scenery on the side of the road.

To the drivers side just a little but it's still got the factory rubber bushings and 160,000 mi. I figure it's probably the half cracked, half dry-rotted bushings in the shackles causing mine.

Wow, you mean to tell me that I'm not the only one with a Jeep that doesn't exactly sit straight? Well, that certainly is good news. Ever since I've noticed, my CJ has a slight lean towards the driver's side. Just figured maybe my springs were slowly wearing out and therefore causing the lean.
