interesting

I read an interesting quote the other day.
It was said by an unemployed welfare taker.

"Weekends just aren't as exciting when you are unemployed."
"What is the difference in a weekday and a weekend when you are unemployed?"

I thought this was kind of funny, but true.

"I see." the blind man said to the deaf woman.

Re: interesting

That's a slightly changed version of a line from an old song by Primus - "Weekends don't quite mean so much when you're unemployed"

That reminds me of a hippie gal who was the sister of my next-door neighbor in 1967. The hippie lived in the Haight-Ashbury district in San Francisco and basically lived off panhandling and the more wealthy hippie kids'; NOBODY worked. One day the hippie chick and her boyfriend came by "On Vacation" for a visit. The thing that puzzled me at the time was: "Vacation from WHAT!"...nobody had a job! It all ended badly, however, when my "normal" neighbor visited her sister in SFO; took SOMETHING that they had there; blew her mind out; was hospitalized; was not able to recover except enough to commit suicide. To this day I can't listen to anyone tell me how "wonderful" drugs can be.
