I Helped Someone!!

Now I feel like I'm making some headway....
Got this a little bit ago via private mail on the board....
=====================

Received: 8/22/00 12:42 PM
I have followed the BBS for about a year. The information has been extremely useful, interesting and valuable by and large.
I paticularly wanted to recongize your contributions following the recent showing of immaturity by the flamers who have objected to some of your recent comments.
I appreciate what you have contributed and the time and effort you put into helping those of us who are just getting into jeeping. I personally found your recent comments enlightening, appropirte and useful.
I was glad to read today that you will cotinue to add your insights to the BBS.
======================

Now, that's what I like to hear, I helped someone!!
That's why I hang around!!
This, and all those chicks that I meet here ...

Re: I Helped Someone!!

I have know "High5" for a long time...and i remember years ago...we were working on his cj-5 one long night.. and at about midnight on a saturday, he turns to me and sez" I just cant figure why i cant meet any chicks"
i looked at him... wearing nothing but bib over-alls, grease up past his elbows, drunk as a skunk on saturday night in a secluded shop out in the woods.... and i told him i didn't understand it either......somehow he got married after the jeep was "more completed"....

Re: I Helped Someone!!

Hay Rush I have been on this board for about two years and i read a lot more than i get a chance to input on. In my time here i have noticed that you put a lot of time and info into your posts and as far as i am concerned i have learned a lot from your experence. I have used your info to install the Team Rush upgrade w/msd to my jeep. I understand ignition systems better than i ever did in the past i try to pass on this info when ever i can to new and upcomming jeepers. I have donated to the Reilly burn center in your name as requisted for the info and time you have spent helping us all. If your help and knoweldge was not appreacited than i ask why are all of your posts so well read? As for the flammers let the go to He!! The rest of us here like having your knoweldge and help. Screw um if thay can't take a joke.

Re: I Helped Someone!!

My Drill SGT. used to say, " JOKE 'EM IF THEY CAN'T TAKE A F**K!"

Thanks for the kind words guys....
It's been a real pleasant afternoon on the BBS today.
The morning started rough, but it's going good now.

I do put a lot of time in some of my posts, and I try to be very complete, because I don't know the skill level of the reader.
All in all, response has been pretty good, and the flamers are the same half dozen to dozen every time, so I can't be doing too bad.
I have more than 50 e-mails in my account, and all are positive, and in support of me staying on here...

I even managed to get several answers out even in the worst of it yesterday, so that wasn't too bad.
They got buried pretty quick, just by the sheer volume of the flames.

We are doing real good today, got a workable roll cage design up and running, and answered several questions.
Hell, there have even been several jokes on the BBS this afternoon!!
I like to see that.

It's been getting testy here for a few weeks, and just a week ago I told CJ Dave it was going to fall apart.
I didn't know it was going to fall on me!!
I'm unphased, and running at nominal capacity....!!...

Yeah, TR.....I remember that comment you made about the BBS getting as shakey as LA in the summer, but at the time I was in denial. I did know, however, that there were a lot of younger guys out there who may not always have the necessary patience and restraint to really read the posts for content, and who may end up picking the least choiceworthy word or phrase as the bone of contention. I suppose if they weren't passionate and intense, they wouldn't be worth much, but too much of anything can be a problem.

Re: I Helped Someone!!

Aaron, I am glad things are working out. You have helped me more than I could possibly say. I have a quick question. Would a Holley 390cfm 4bbl with an Offenhauser intake be worthwhile for my mostly stock 258? Any help would be appreciated.

Et tu, Dave?

Man, jab jab jab.

You guys should read your own posts!

Flush! Flush!

Just like little kids. Keep at it, and this flaming will never die because the embers keep getting fanned with YOUR own posts. Take your own advice and let it go!
