Go to Wal-Mart and get some Velcro. The real thing is only about 4 or 5 dollars. Get the big rectangles and you can scissor it to size. Put hook (or loop) on the back of the case of the CB and the opposite on the side of the console just in front of the drivers seat. Put more Velcro on the back side of the microphone and on the now exposed face of the case. Run a power supply to the firewall under the carpet and the coaxial cable to the rear also under the carpet. Put the antenna on the spare tire bumper and connect the coax up on both ends as well as the power supply and presto chango you have a ten or twelve second quick disconnect CB close to hand for the driver. The only con is that when you shove the drivers seat full forward on it's track you will peel the microphone off and it falls into the carpet. Big deal!
I've had mine this way for about 5 years and it works fine!
Hope this helps.
This is an expensive idea but a good one.
Get a Tuffy console and mount your CD player/tape deck in it. Then mount you CB in the place that your radio was. Mount a remote speaker on the roll bar and you have a great looking and practicle YJ.
Alittle better than stock.
And now with a future Jeeper on the way.
