Which Belt??? & Happy holidays!

Hey guys,

I put an AMC 304 in my 84 CJ7. I used my 258 6Cyl power steering pump and pulley. I got the Crank and Water pump pulley from a 360. Which belt should I use for the steering pump? I bought one for a "304" but it was way to short. I assume its cause the 258 pulley is different. So what should I ask for?

Thanks. Merry Xmas Jeepers!

Re: Which Belt??? & Happy holidays!

After making a bracket for my powersteering pump for my 350 , I was in the same boat. I went to the parts store with my Jeep, opened the hood, and tried belts until I got one to fit. Get a lot of looks form people, but who cares. People think I'm weird anyway.

You can use a cloth ruler(for sewing) or a string to measure the length of the necessary belt. Then buy that size and the next size up and down. Choose whichever one fits best.
