I do believe that the gentleman said to just drill it out. The U-bolts have their very own little hex nuts, you see. I could be mistaken but I think if you'll check the tricks thread, it is on there.

I dont know which axle you are doing this to, but u bolt kits for a Ford are generally the ones needed when drilling out strap style.

Oh those part #'s are GREAT...except it is a Dana 44 rear from a 79 Scout, and a Dana 44 front from a 86 Wagoneer...anyone got those part #'s??

While I don\'t know.....

I would either:

A) Call a 4x4 place that deals with Jeeps and see what they come up with.
B) See if you could indeed drill them out without making the yokes too thin. I wasted mine working on the Dana 20.

If I remember right, I THINK that the Dana 30 yoke will fit the 44's. I MAY be wrong. I know that the D30 yoke will fit into a Dana 300. So, if they do, you can also use Dana 20 yokes as well. These are a tad bit longer than the D30 yoke and they might put too much of a bind on your pinion......
