'74 CJ5 Vin Location?

My CJ5 has a fiberglass body on it and Nevada requires a VIN inspection to title/ plate it here. Where would the VIN be on the frame? I've looked and can't find it. Did they ever "rust off"?

I'd like to adventually start working on build stage #2 but the lack of a vin is kinda an issue in the state of Nevada or if I ever tried to take it down to Baja. I'd like to do this legally if possible.

On my '78 it's on the top of the frame hump at the right rear. I found it was there by looking in the FSM. It wasn't real clear any more due to rust. If you can't find it there, try to find a '74 FSM. It should tell you. An old Jeep dealer might have a manual you could consult.

Did the original firewall tag go with the old body?

EVERYTHING's easy for the guy who doesn't have to do it.

The original tag is probably soup cans. I'll throw the wire wheel on the grinder and see what I can see.

I really only want to use the frame from the motor mounts to the back of the front seats so I can keep it KOH modified class legal. Michigan plates (where it's currently titled in my name) are an option though I'd never be able to sell it to some one in a state that requires a vin inspection. I'm a little worried about getting hasseled by lawn enforcement in Vegas (about 95% sure sure I'm moving there) or by border patrol coming back from Baja.

I'm thinking finding a basket case donor with a clear title might be a better option.
