Disable clutch switch?

Just purchased 99 Wrangler Sport. Owners manual says I can bypass the switch that won't allow me to start the engine without the clutch depressed by removing the number 20 fuse in the fuse block. I just checked, and this place on my fuse block has no fuse in it, yet the engine will not start without the clutch depressed. Any ideas?

Usually they look under the dash and find the switch....pull off the two-wire connector, and make a push-in jumper for it.Just for the heck of it INSTALL a fuse in that hole and see what happens.MAybe you read it wrong.

Try putting the fuse in number 20. On a G.M., it works by installing the fuse that says "pnrdl",which is used on the autos for the neutral safety switch. By-passing the switch may cause a cruise from dis-enguaging, if so equipped.

The 2000 tj sport manual says to install the fuse. They give you the fuse in the owner manual pouch.

Re: Disable clutch switch?

After seeing your post, I re-checked the manual. Boy do I feel like an idiot! I mis-read the manual.... Thanks
