Anyone have a YJ 5-speed shifter they don\'t need?

I took my body lift off. Now my shifter hits the dashboard. Dealer wants too much for one and the junkyards don't seem to 'stock' them. If anybody has one they don't need, I'd like to take it off your hands. It has to be in new shape. Scrapes and all that are fine, but I don't want something that's been heated, bent then re-bent (you get the idea). I want something that looks like original and unaltered. It's for an ax15 tranny, but I believe the ax5 and peugot tranny can use the same shifter.

Peuget tranny shifter not the same, Dont know about ax/5. Why dont you take it out ,go to machine shop, cut it off and turn end down and cut new threads in for your shifter knob Jeff

I had the peugot tranny. When I did an engine swap, I bought an ax15 w/o shifter and tossed the peugot. The guy who installed the new tranny used the same shifter. That's why I figured they used the same.

Maybe you are talking about the shifter handle that attaches to shifter stub from tranny. And I would like to know how to get those apart. Any way stubs in to tranny are definitly not the same Jeff
