Need help on TJ tuneup items

Our '97 TJ is in need of a tune up. We have the K&N air filter (not dirty) and have the oil changed at 3,000 mile intervals. So are there any special items I should look for? I am going to replace the plugs, cap, rotor, wires, fuel filter, and PCV valve. Should I look for anything special in these items or just get "the good stuff" over the shelf at NAPA? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Need help on TJ tuneup items

to get to the fuel filter you have to drop the tank. i'm not really sure if this is meant to be considered routine tune-up, it just seems like a large hassle to me. (but then again, i don't even change my own oil)

(i'm only replying to bring this question to the top so that more educated people will reply, so i can learn what to do on my own TJ)

I appreciate that. I have never replaced the fuel filter, but with over 76K, I figured it was time. All the other vehicles I have owned have had one on the frame, I just assumed this was the same. Maybe that's why NAPA doesn't stock one.

I am a big fan of Mopar's combustion chamber cleaner, and using BG's 44K injector cleaner in the tank. What is nice about the combustion chamber cleaner is the way that cleans the olifins from the idle air passages and throttle plates. You should run it through before you change the plugs.
