I just finished my cj-7 that I have worked on for 4 years and have an old rusted out suburban in my back yard that runs like a top. I just ordered a new "kit" from urban man. to turn it into a hummer. Actually it will end up looking like agiant Jeep...even with a cj-7 dash and speedometer, 39 inch mickeys and about a 6' 10" wide interior. Will be posting pictures and taking suggestions on custiomising it. I am using an origianl hummer front end and keeping the old straight axle in the front.
Just finished your Jeep??? How is that possible??? I just have to go wheelin again to generate new projects, I dont think I could actualy finish unless I parked it.
Good luck with the new Burb project.
If at first you dont succeed, your replacement will try and try again.
We were just in Orlando area this past weekend and saw a "mini-me" hummer coming down the road. We all stopped and stared as it went by thinking what the f......??? Then we saw the tell-tail VW engine and exhaust signature hanging out the back. It was a kit car!!
Sort of cool in its own way.
In the Dallas/Ft. Worth area there is someone who will do the conversion for you if you pay the right amount of money. I believe the name the company gives the creation is the "Bummer." I guess this is a combination of burb and hummer??? All you have to do is bring them the frame and suspension from a 4x4 suburban and they will do the rest. Pretty cool looking and a lot cheaper if you can not afford a hummer.
