Added a new heep to my herd,,

I bought a 84 CJ-7 from WVa..(Im in MD) It was painted with Herculiner all over the body & hood & front fenders,, The guy wanted $1250 for it & I got it for $900 ,, Its got a 258 in it along with a T5 tranny & a 300 Transfer case,, Brand new 32s with Black steel wheels on her,, It has 160 K on it ,, Plus a full hard top & bikini top .. It has power brakes & power steering (has some play or wobble in it at anything over 45) I got a stableiser for it yet to be put on,,I plan on painting by hand with a small rollor Rusto-leum Forest green Smokes a little when its just fired up & when you give it gas,,Going to change out the carb to see if that is the reason,, Might need new seals on the valves,,

$900???

You better watch over your shoulder, dude.

That's highway robbery. You did get a title, right?

Dang good find. I've got a '78 with 64000 that smokes for 2 seconds at startup only, then smooths out and runs clean. It's my prelubrication system - prevents dry starts.

Most of the body pasted the magnet test ,, but he should have put it under the body & on frame,, service rust on frame & under carage of the body,, Might have to spray some por 15 before winter hits,, Got a couple patchs on the floor but he didnt cut the old out (go figure) just laid them in over the rusted out area & screwed them in.. ,, Guess he thought out of sight out of mind,, My plans for the future is a YJ body swap any way ,, Still like the bed liner idea ,, with the paint on the body makes it smooth out.. I like it it dosent take a 1/8 of hide of you as you work on it .. Now I gotta repaint the top cause it dosent look as good as the body ,, & the top tail gate needs a lot of TLC in a few places ,, lets way to much rain in on the back carpet,, I try to post some more pics as I get her done,, She should make a fine daily driver.

"Back carpet" There's your first problem - don't need no stinkin' carpet. It stinks when it gets wet.

EVERYTHING's easy for the guy who doesn't have to do it.

Yeah I know thieres none on the front area of the Jeep guess it stunk to bad up under his nose,, Its on my list to take out & por 15 & bedliner too.. The nice rear seat will be reused in my 3B Just trying to get this thing reliable & the finish it out as I drive her,, I need to get back on my 3B project ,, just about got the frame done on her ,, Planing on using the CJ7 to tow it to the car wash to get 35 years of leakey rear seals (from the 304) & grease From the U-joints off her the I might box it in & then por 15 it & replace everything in the front thats worn out along with my new 23 gal fuel tank (to feed the 360) ,, Then its back to the body on her,, Being laid off dose have its perks,,

It is as long as the wife dont catch me washing parts (headlight rings & blinker assembles) in the kitchen sink as I run for cover as the third storm comes through today,, Im on the north face of the little mtn I live on & all the storms been coming out of the south ,, I got the headlights all back togeather & installed after painting & polishing was done,, Checked out the drivers seat & its in bad shape so Ill just use one of the seats I have sit aside for my 3b & use then till I find a replacement.. Noticed it sets a little low in the front,, so I guess Ill use the set of used 4in lift springs I bought for my 81 a few years ago to level it out,, Since I plan on pushing snow with her,,God I love pulling wrenchs on these things ,, Cant wait to take her out,,
